Agritech Expo Zambia 2019
UPDATE: Ministry of Fisheries & Livestock Gives Clearance to Host the Agritech Expo Zambia
Agritech Expo Zambia, opens on Thursday 11 April 2019, in Chisamba, north of Lusaka. The award-winning exhibition welcomes over 220 exhibitors from Zambia and across the world, displaying machinery, equipment, agro-seeds, agro-chemicals, solutions and services for the Zambian and regional agriculture sector. Bringing annually 18,000+ farming professionals to the field, in its 6th year the exhibition is widely recognised as the leading outdoor exhibition in sub-Saharan Africa.
We have been made aware of the outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease in the district of Chisamba by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock who was quick to respond by isolating and containing the outbreak as well as banning the movement of all livestock in the district.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has approved the opening of the Agritech Expo Zambia.
As a precautionary measure, Agritech Expo Zambia will not be displaying any livestock at the show. The organisers have taken immediate steps to apply the bio-security measures advised by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock to the entry and exit points of the exhibition grounds in order to ensure a controlled environment. A roll-through vehicle wash-down process for all vehicles has been installed, along with foot path shoots for footwear at all entry and exit points.
Although there won’t be livestock at the event, the 2019 edition will showcase an extended livestock zone with over 35 companies displaying their technologies and services to the sector, together with a free dedicated livestock learning programme, including presentations, practical demonstrations and consulting.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the event team directly.
